Support for Tom Johnston

Twenty years ago, a prominent national ministry leader told me, "Tom, God has sent you as a missionary – to His Church." When he said this, it immediately resonated in my spirit. Ever since I was called to ministry at the age of 14, I have had a "holy discontent" about the Church – a love for His people but a desire to see the Church in the West return to the Biblical foundation of the New Testament. I have always had a vision from the Lord for seeing His people restored, renewed, and released to fruitfulness. In pursuit of this vision, the Lord has used me to catalyze change. This has happened through planting four churches, revitalizing an existing church, training more than forty men and women from these five local churches for pastoral ministry, and sending out twelve church plants. Add to that the thousands of pastors, church planters, and denominational leaders my friend Mike Perkinson and I have impacted through the ministry of Praxis. My mentors and ministry peers agree that this is the best use of God's grace on my life.

As you may know, last November I transitioned out of my role as a senior pastor to invest full-time in the work of Praxis. Cathy and I, along with the Praxis Board of Directors, are convinced of this direction. I feel the Holy Spirit tugging on my heart to engage more intentionally in this broader ministry, giving more time to pastors, church planters, and denominational leaders seeking my assistance in accomplishing their God-given mission.

As I enter the last quarter of my ministry, this is also my desire. However, as a missionary, I have the added responsibility of raising my own support. I am reaching out to a number of my friends who believe in the work I am doing to help build a base of support. My monthly goal for this is $2,000, which is what Cathy and I need to make our personal budget work. Most people would not miss a $50 or $100 monthly contribution to Praxis in their budget to establish this support base. Yet, this amount has the potential to multiply Kingdom impact. If the Lord so moves you, you can express your commitment by mailing a monthly check made out to "Praxis" to the address at the bottom of this note. If you would prefer to give electronically, you can set that up on this webpage (DonorBox/Stripe). If you have questions, you may call Jodie McCay, our Operations Coordinator, at 603-518-5007. The recurring, sustaining support of people like you is key to Praxis's future fruitfulness.

Please pray for me in this season as I begin moving into this next, final chapter in the service of our Lord. Thank you for considering this request. May the Lord bless you!

Yours for Christ and His Kingdom,

Rev. Dr. Tom Johnston
