Praxis Core Values

Values define who you are – the nature of your being. They reflect you and things you are most passionate about. Influencing what you do, why you do it, and how you do it, they converge together to create the very fabric of life and ministry. Who you are in Christ determines what you do in Christ.

Praxis, as a relationally based learning community of leaders who are continually investing in others, holds five things as elemental to who we are. These five values define what Praxis does and how we approach ministry.

We value -

The Local Church – led by indigenous leaders – as God’s preferred ministry platform.

A global church expressed in local faith communities is how God does business with mankind. The local church is the “front-line” of spiritual conflict, and Pastors and other leaders are in the trenches extending the Kingdom of God. Since Jesus’ focus is here, so is ours. All that we do, whether it is coaching a church planter, leading NCD process in a local church, developing church multiplication movements with denominational leaders, or mentoring emerging leaders – it all has and end-focus on the local church.

Enlightening church leaders to Biblically-based principles for: church health, growth and multiplication; and the development of next-generation leaders.

Imparting key ministry principles is fundamental to the work of Praxis. How does the leader partner with the Holy Spirit as He works to establish, mature and multiply His church? What key principles and ways of thinking must a leader be fluent in in order to see the church prosper? These issues are at the heart of our training dynamics?

In addition, developing streams of leadership emergence, especially among younger leaders is a significant element of our work – helping to raise leaders from the harvest for the harvest.

Encouraging leaders through relationships and peer networking, building “learning communities” for existing and emerging leaders.

Learning happens best in the context of community – where shared experience informs the learning process. By developing networks of ministry peers – those people in the same phase of church life – learning happens that is both broad and deep. Helping establish such networks is part of who we are.

Enriching leaders through training in the practical application of Biblical principles for Kingdom extension.

The best carpenter, mechanic or computer technician would be ineffective with out “the right tool for the job.” The best musician wouldn’t be able to play a note without their instrument, and the best artist would not be able to paint or sculpt with out the right training or the right tools for the work. So it is with ministry – the proper training and the proper tool for the mission Our name says it – “Praxis” – practical, application-based learning. It is one thing to have vision – it is another thing to be able to implement it.

Empowering those leaders through mentoring, coaching and sponsoring.

A mentor goes before and pours into, a coach comes alongside and draws out of and a sponsor stands behind and puts forward. Each emerging and existing leader needs each of these people in their life. At Praxis, we don’t just coach mentor or sponsor – we develop the mentors, train the coaches and help ministry networks and denomination develop sponsorship tracks for emerging leaders.
