What is A New Testament Trilogy?
A New Testament Trilogy looks at the three key issues of the Christian life: Our God, Our Self, and Our Community – revisiting what the New Testament has to say about the nature of God, the nature of our identity in Christ, and the nature of the Church as God’s Kingdom community. Resources?
From this journey of rediscovery seven tools
are being developed based on the “3&12” teaching
model of Jesus. These are developmental
experiences and training materials designed along the
principles found in Trilogy. They are both
environment and content. The
purpose of these resources is to intentionally,
relationally and organically shape leaders and their
congregations. Designed for simplicity and ease of use,
the resources will be available for download via this
website, and include text, presentation and multimedia
files. More resources will be added through 2005 &
2006. Below are brief descriptions of each resource.
Click on the link for more information. W Crossing – “onto a new path” A three-day retreat for pastors wrapped around the core Trilogy concepts. This is the doorway to understanding Trilogy and using Trilogy Resources. The Crossing is an extremely dangerous time with Jesus in which participants evaluate their identity, ministry and ecclesiology. Not for the faint of heart, this encounter with God will ruin you for “church as usual.”
W Pilgrimage – “the path of the disciple” A simple process for making new disciples the way Jesus did – taking discipleship beyond the classroom into every aspect of life. Something you can do, and something you can teach others to do. Based on Jesus’ “3&12” model of ministry.
W Journey – “the descent to servant-leadership” The only limitation on the harvest is laborers (Luke 10:2). Start making leaders from the harvest for the harvest. Journey provides both content and context for pastors who want to develop leaders in their local church.
W Emerge – “the door to your destiny” In the western world, there are not enough churches or enough pastoral leaders to fulfill the mandate of the Great Commission. Emerge is a resource designed to help you develop shepherds – pastors for existing churches, staff pastors and church planters.
W Vista – “the way to vitality and fruitfulness” Your church is designed by Jesus to grow and be fruitful. Learn how to work with Him in the growth, health and multiplication of your local church community. Don’t go a mile wide and an inch deep – go a mile deep, too!
W Horizon – “setting a course to God’s preferred future” Strategic formation for existing churches. Let the Lord open your eyes to see the potential of your church’s future, and how to partner with Jesus in fulfilling His divine call on your congregation. You love Jesus and you love the people you pastor – but you couldn’t plan your way out of a paper bag. Take it to the next level through Horizon’s intentional planning tools.
W Quest – “a stairway to starting new communities” Don’t just plant a church - start a community. Go beyond the hype and clever marketing, and partner with Jesus in building the organic body of Christ. Quest gives the planter and their core community the tools they need to get the job done.
