Greetings, Hello and welcome to another edition of The Uprising, delivering to you News of the Revolution! We have some new articles and for all you Trilogy Subscribers, we have released some new resources. So, enjoy and as always, Join the Revolution! Tom Johnston & Mike Perkinson
by Tom Johnston Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. John 4: 35 ESV This is an amazing scene: Jesus having had a dialog with the Samaritan woman, the disciples have returned from getting take-out food and are weirded-out by the fact that the Rabbi is talking to a woman - and not one of good reputation to boot! They are so wrapped up in the day-to-day of life and so stunned by Jesus breaking some serious social and religious taboos that they miss the fact that the entire village is now surging out of the town and coming up to see Jesus.
by Mike Chong Perkinson For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45 It is said that a manager is one who gets things done right, while a leader is one who gets the right things done. Management follows good leadership. Let me use for example a group of people that are tearing up a field so that a baseball park might be built on it. No matter how good the management is, it is all worthless if the group of people are working on the wrong field. Leadership is the ability to find the right field. We are in great need of spiritual leaders; being busy is not our goal, but doing what is right and pleasing to the Lord for the benefit of the Kingdom is.
It's finally here, Trilogy Subscribers! The first few Beta files from our Emerge pastoral training series are now being posted. Check it out, and keep watching the site, as more files will be posted in coming weeks, along with instructions on use in your local church.
We are still looking for sponsors for our pastoral apprentices working in the Philippines with Praxis East Asia. $250 provides an apprentice with a complete set of books needed for their year-long ministry preparation. To donate now or for more information click here. (Go ahead, it won't hurt!) Thanks for considering the needs of these future pastors and church planters!
